Microsoft’s attempt to crack into the burgeoning tablet PC market will be in direct competition with their upcoming PC OS Windows 8. Despite not having a price for the Windows Surface, Microsoft has revealed it will be available on October 26th, apparently in both RT and Pro (more powerful) varieties.
Maybe that will take some of the heat away from Windows 8, which in the past week has taken some hits from major game developers. Valve’s Gabe Newell stated it will be a “catastrophe,” and Blizzard seems to be in direct agreement with that assessment.
Surface will launch with at least one game, strategy title Skull of the Shogun, a Microsoft-published, cross-platform title spanning Windows 8, Windows 7, XBLA, and the tablet.
