Injustice: Gods Among Us Has a Date and Two Special Editions

Injustice: Gods Among Us has made quite a splash being NetherRealms next fighting game. With Mortal Kombat as the pedigree and a stable of DC characters, the game has attracted the eyes of fighters everywhere. All that’s left is when it’s coming out and what to expect for extras.

The cast hasn’t been confirmed to be finalized but the release date has been: April 16, 2012 for the Wii U, Playstation 3, and Xbx 360. Europe will be getting it three days later at April 19, 2013. As for the Collector’s Editions, that a bigger answer.

The Battle Edition will have a whopping $149.99 price, but will be worth it. In addition to three additional character skins based off DC’s New 52 relaunch of its characters, the Battle Edition will be what you’ll want to get for a brand new fight stick. There will also be the Collector’s Edition for those of you who already have a stick or are fine on pad. For $99.99, the Collector’s Edition will have the aforementioned three skins, an Injustice comic book, a statue, and digital download of the movie, Justice League: Doom. Unfortunately, both these special editions are for the PS3 and Xbox 360. But having the game at all should be a mild honor for the Wii U.

As a personal note, I’m interested in the Battle Edition due to being in the market for a new fight stick. But I prefer the ball handle on my stick as opposed to the joystick configuration. At least if the package is at $149.99, I should be expecting some quality arcade parts in it.
