When you think about it, Ratchet & Clank has always featured a lovable cast of characters that wouldn’t feel out of place of say, a Dreamworks movie. But Dreamworks isn’t behind this film adaptation for Ratchet & Clank. Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment will be responsible for bringing the movie to life. And it’ll be out sometime in 2015 as a theatrical feature.
The teaser is not only a quirky announcement but it also made me realize just how well the characters of R&C fit into a family action/comedy movie. There’s your animal hero, a sidekick, and of course the goofball, which is Captain Quark in this case. Plus Insomniac will be on hand to make sure the adaptation goes well. Even T.J. Fixman, the writer behind the games, will be behind the movie’s script.
It all sounds promising and I can already imagine the Ratchet & Clank merchandise lining department store shelves.
