Nintendo has decided to jump into the pre-owned hardware business. The beginnings of the offer include a series of DSi XL and 3DS consoles for $100 and $130 respectively, in two colors each.
Used DSi XL units – at local independent retailers – run about $70-$80. GameStop is asking $110 for the same console, so clearly, Nintendo is looking to take a chunk out of GameStop’s pockets. Searching Craiglist, the local pricing range stays true. However, Nintendo’s systems come with their own warranty and guarantee, and surely most people would trust Nintendo’s own internal repair team as opposed to GameStop’s. (or Craigslist seller).
Systems are promised to be in excellent condition with “minor cosmetic blemishes.” Certain units also come with games, adding to the value.
