A $15 sequel to a tower defense/shooter combo is this week’s entry.
Awfully reminiscent of the totally awesome Trenched/Iron Brigade, this mixture of first-person shooter and tower defense is a complete winner. With bright, satisfying art, tuned shooting, and gracious leveling, the glitzy world of Sanctum pours on offensive aliens as the player locks down by building paths and turrets. An ever-expanding arsenal of weapons makes the strewn body pile-ups increasingly satisfying, and well produced music keeps a frantic, even desperate pace. Sanctum 2 deserves to bundled with the original (missing on Xbox 360) as a physical release alongside premiere software. It’s that fun.
