Amazon Launches Its Own Indie Games Store

Joining in on the hot cake factory Steam and GOG seem to have, Amazon has launched  a section specifically for selling and, even better, spotlighting indie games. It’s great that indie games are getting an even larger audience now, but I think it’s especially great that Amazon is also letting their customers learn more about the people behind the games and what makes them special compared to bigger, AAA games.

Probably the best thing about this store is that 100% of the sales go to the developers. And to help launch Amazon’s indie game store, from now until July 17, purchasing an indie game from the store will also net you three free pre-selected games that will rotate on a daily basis. For example, until June 10 buyers will get Dynasty of Dusk, Huntsman: The Orphanage, and The Curse of Nordic Cove for free when they buy a game from the Amazon Indie Games page.
