A lonely $10 release this week.
If Gears of War had a $10 baby, Scourge: Outbreak it would be. Taking mechanics wholesale and bolstering them with with refreshing sub-powers, this somewhat clunky shooter does almost everything right. What it lacks in precision is makes up for with energized stop-and-pop shooting. Four-player co-op is burned in, leading to familiar revival runs as players track down an evil corporation. Sharply handled visuals may often be repetitious, yet carry the banner of steely world cloaked in chrome. If you haven’t tired of third-person, cover shooters, there is an XBLA title waiting for you to soak in at outstanding value.
