Week in Arcade: Charlie Murder

Charlie Murder

A voracious and darkly violent beat-em-up with sharply tuned RPG elements is worth the asking price. While lacking brightly saturated allure brought in Castle Crashers, Murder’s tighter impact in combat and readily accessible leveling is polished to extremes. With metal-infused rock and screen smearing filters, Murder is in a perpetual daze of grisly awesome. Pack four players onto its screen and zombie splattering chaos readily ensues. Ska Studios’ (Dishwasher) penchant for difficulty spikes remain, and backtracking is a bother, but this sterling, frantic brawler is a must.
