Video Game Cover Artist Greg Martin Passes

Former animator for Hanna-Barbera (and others), Greg Martin, has passed away according to a post on Nintendo Age. Martin had a direct hand in the marketing of late ’80s and early ’90s video games, putting together cover artwork for a host of recognizable titles. Martin handled cover duty for Namco, Sega, Capcom, Hudson, and more.

Peering through his resume, Martin was a Sonic the Hedgehog regular, and propped up recurring Pac-Man art more often than likely anyone else. His artistry dons some of the most sought after collectable games on the market, including the NES titles Flinstones: The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, Snow Brothers, and Ducktales 2. Kotaku noted his work on various VHS box art as well.

The original Nintendo Age forum post on Greg Martin holds a ton of his cover art. You’ll likely recognize many of them.
