Week in Arcade: Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD

Slowing XBLA releases have led us here, to a $20 digital port of a Vita title.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD

A port of the (once) Vita exclusive, this HD remix bumps up polygon counts and cleans up textures, although resolution still seems a touch low. The game is identical to the portable version which still commands a $30 price, making the $20 big screen version not such a tough one to swallow. This female-infused, adventurous side story loses the qualities set forth by Assassin’s Creed IV, so jumping down to this edition may be difficult for some still held up in the sequel’s world. However, the side story holds its own and if you’re still hankering for roof hopping, maybe things were meant to be.
