Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 is being patched. A lot.
Speaking to Xbox Wire, Executive Producer Josh Bridge detailed the blitz of changes being readied for the zombie slaughter fest. Community feedback ideas, UI fixes, stability touch-up, and other essential patch material is primed to fire onto hard drives January 21st. However, also included in the patch download is material for the upcoming DLC, ensuring online compatibility.
Whether players show interest or not, the download will leech 13GB of data from users, crumbling those connections with tight data caps. Capcom has chosen to bundle the patch and DLC data together without an option for either/or. It’s a distressing turn and short-sighted consumer decision which does not bode well for internet-lite customers continuing into this generation.
