While Microsoft’s Xbox 360 launched with a media remote packed in, Xbox One buyers were not so lucky. Instead, the focus shifted to Kinect or the controller for media controlling functionality.
Sometime in early March, the Xbox One Media Remote will ship to stores, carrying a retail price of $24.99. The remote does not use standard features, but instead utilizes IR blasting to talk with Kinect. In other words, you’ll need the motion sensing device to utilize this remote.
This Media Remote comes with proprietary back and menu buttons, plus is backlit for dark room usage.
