Citing performance rates, EA South Africa has made the decision to cancel distribution of Respawn’s Titanfall in the region.
Despite comments from users who claim to have taken part in the beta without flaws, EA South Africa’s post offers no response as of this writing. Those who made pre-orders can have their money refunded for digital or physical editions. While there is no specification, it is assumed this includes both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Petitions have already been made in an attempt to have the decision reversed. Users cite EA should let the community decide whether the title is ready for the country’s available bandwidth and latency. However, EA seems cautious enough to ensure smoothness for such a flagship product and new IP. Any foreseeable problems are clearly being scratched out prior to launch.
